Motion would have LADOT study rapid safety reviews after fatal crashes

Councilmembers ask transportation staff to report on cost and feasibility of inspecting every fatal crash site.

City Council· posted Oct 7Motion

After a serious or fatal traffic crash, city engineers would review the street and install safety fixes under a program the motion asks staff to study. Councilmembers Marqueece Harris-Dawson and Heather Hutt want the Department of Transportation, with police, to report on feasibility, resources, and a dedicated funding source.
