Audit finds accounting and data security lapses at county youth drug prevention provider
Auditors say Change Lanes Youth Support Services lacked proper books and left $4,710 in spending unsupported.
A nonprofit paid about $350,000 by the county to run youth alcohol and drug prevention classes kept incomplete financial records, lacked internal controls over cash, and did not encrypt computers holding client personal information. The Auditor-Controller says Public Health should consider flagging the agency in the county contractor alert database if problems are not fixed.
Change Lanes is to document or repay $4,710 in unsupported costs and $3,458 in shared costs · Jul 30
