Motion would strip Transportation Commission veto over housing on city parking lots

Councilmember Eunisses Hernandez asks the City Attorney to rewrite the code so affordable housing on city land is not delayed.

City Council· posted Sep 22Motion

Affordable housing built on city-owned parking sites would no longer need sign-off from the appointed Board of Transportation Commissioners, and the Los Angeles Housing Department would control those properties. Councilmember Eunisses Hernandez asks the City Attorney to draft the change and the City Administrative Officer to update the Asset Evaluation Framework.

What happens next

City Attorney would prepare and present the amending ordinance if the Council adopts the motion.
