Mayor Bass approves civil service exemption for LAWA airport finance chief post

The job overseeing airport budgets, debt and airline fees would be filled outside normal civil service hiring rules.

City Council· posted Aug 3Appointment

Los Angeles World Airports could hire a Chief of Airports Finance outside civil service rules, giving it more leeway to recruit for the job that oversees budgets, debt, and airport fees. Mayor Karen Bass approved the request and sent it to the City Council; her approval may expire if the position is not filled within six months.
