Auditor finds county job-training contractor missed half of its performance targets
LACOE placed 29% of welfare-to-work participants in full-time jobs, below the 40% its $25 million county contract requires.
People in county welfare-to-work and refugee employment programs got job readiness and career planning services from the Los Angeles County Office of Education, which missed three of six performance targets, including job placement and job club participation. The Auditor-Controller reviewed the contract, and the Department of Public Social Services will work with LACOE on fixes.
DPSS will work with LACOE to ensure the timecard recommendation is implemented.
